Greenville has spent the last decade quietly becoming one of the South’s most exciting food cities, and the next big arrival is worth circling on your calendar. JINYA Ramen Bar is officially coming to Greenville, and if you love a bowl of ramen that’s actually been thought through from broth to noodle, this one’s for you.
20 Hours in the Making (Seriously)
Here’s what separates JINYA from any quick-serve noodle spot: the broth. Every bowl starts with a base simmered for more than 20 hours, pulling deep, layered flavor from whole pork bones, chicken, vegetables, dashi, miso, kombu, and bonito. It tastes like someone cared about it, because they did.
The noodles also go through a special aging process before they hit the bowl, so the texture holds up all the way to the last slurp.
The Bowl Lineup: Something for Everyone at the Table
With 13 signature ramen bowls and more than 25 customizable toppings, you could visit every week and still have new combinations to try. A few standouts from the full menu:
- Tonkotsu Black — rich pork bone broth with black garlic oil, bold and deeply savory
- Spicy Chicken Ramen — clean heat, satisfying from the first sip
- Birria Ramen — slow-cooked beef in a spiced broth with red onion, cilantro, and lime (a creative fusion that absolutely works)
- Vegan Miso — Impossible meat, tofu, broccolini, corn, and crispy garlic in a plant-based broth
- Chicken Clear Soup — a lighter yuzu-forward option for those who prefer something cleaner
Pile on a soft poached egg, pork chashu, fresh garlic, or nori, and the bowl is entirely yours.
Not Just Ramen
The small plates at JINYA are a reason to show up early and stay a while:
- Takoyaki — octopus balls with okonomiyaki sauce and bonito flakes
- Ebi Mayo — crispy shrimp tempura in spicy mayo
- Chicken Karaage with ponzu sauce
- Gyoza stuffed with pork or Impossible meat
- Truffle Fries with spicy mayo (yes, they absolutely count)
The full bar rounds things out with Japanese-inspired cocktails and craft beers designed to complement the food.
Where to Find It

The location sits inside the new County Square mixed-use development along University Ridge, joining Whole Foods Market, Agave Bandido, Pins Mechanical, and several other first-to-market concepts for the Upstate.
Hours: Not yet announced. Check jinyaramenbar.com/locations/greenville for the official opening date and hours.
The 3,700-square-foot space will include a full bar and outdoor patio seating, so it works just as well for a solo weeknight dinner as it does for a full evening out with the group.

Greenville Keeps Getting Better
JINYA will be the first location of its kind in Greenville, and it fits right into the momentum the city’s food scene has been building. The County Square redevelopment is bringing concepts to the Upstate that locals have had to travel for until now. This one was worth the wait.
