Our fly fishing event follows a carefully designed schedule to ensure you gain maximum value from the experience. The day begins at 9:00 AM with a brief introduction, followed by segments covering fly rod selection (9:05-9:20 AM), rigging your gear (9:20-9:40 AM), and understanding knots and leaders (9:40-10:00 AM). We recognize that learning new skills requires breaks, so we’ve incorporated a 20-minute refreshment break at 10:00 AM and another 15-minute break at 11:00 AM to keep energy levels high and minds receptive.

The interactive nature of our instruction ensures that every participant receives hands-on experience with the equipment and techniques discussed. You’ll not only learn about fly casting theory but will actually practice the motions and receive personalized feedback to improve your form. Our small-group format allows for plenty of individual attention, ensuring that by the end of the session, you’ll have gained confidence in the fundamental skills needed to pursue fly fishing as a rewarding outdoor activity. No prior experience is necessary – just bring your enthusiasm and readiness to learn!

Situated at Chris Taylor Memorial Park on Rice Circle in Anderson, South Carolina, this event offers the perfect setting to learn fly fishing fundamentals. The venue provides free parking, making it convenient for all participants to attend. The $75 ticket price delivers exceptional value, covering thorough instruction and all necessary equipment – that’s right, you don’t need to bring a single piece of gear! Every participant will have the opportunity to use quality fly rods during the session, removing any barrier to entry for newcomers to the sport.

Your comfort and enjoyment are important to us, which is why we’ll provide cold bottled water and light snacks during the scheduled breaks. Should your plans change, we offer a flexible refund policy up to two days before the event. The class is led by Scott, an experienced instructor whose powerful blend of outdoor skills and wilderness adventure experience creates an engaging learning environment. His passion for the outdoors is infectious, and his teaching approach makes complex techniques accessible to beginners while still offering valuable insights for those with some prior experience. By the end of this 3.5-hour session, you’ll walk away with practical skills, newfound knowledge, and perhaps the beginning of a lifelong passion for fly fishing.
