Prepare for a wonderful ice-skating occasion in town! Bon Secours Wellness Arena will become a winter scene for “Skating on the Big Ice,” and we anticipate our community joining for holiday enjoyment. This is an excellent chance to make lasting memories with family and friends, if you are an experienced skater or simply wish to try something new. Therefore, note the dates and get ready for a memorable time on the ice.

This exciting event is planned for multiple dates throughout the holiday period, providing several opportunities to participate. You can skate on December 22nd, 23rd, 29th, and 30th, 2025. Each day will offer two convenient skating periods: an afternoon slot from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and another from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Keep in mind, capacity is limited for each period, so it is advisable to plan ahead to ensure you do not miss this enjoyable winter activity.

Step onto the “Big Ice” and immerse yourself in a truly magical atmosphere. The arena’s large rink provides ample space for everyone to enjoy their skating time, if you are practicing advanced moves or simply enjoying a relaxed glide. Festive music will be played to maintain a high energy level and create the perfect holiday mood. To assist, particularly our younger skaters, we will provide free ice walkers and sleds on a first-come, first-served basis to help build confidence on the ice.

Your ticket for “Skating on the Big Ice” grants you two hours of complete skating enjoyment, and includes your skate rental. There is no need to bring your own skates! While you are having a great time on the ice, tasty refreshments will be available for purchase to replenish your energy. Additionally, for an extra special occasion, Santa Claus will be present during the December 22nd and 23rd periods, offering complimentary photos – a perfect keepsake of your festive outing. We also have special “Skate, Roll & Stroll” periods designed for a more leisurely pace.

Getting ready for your skating adventure is straightforward. Tickets are priced at $16.88 per person and must be bought beforehand as periods fill up quickly. Please be aware that all payments are by credit or debit card only; cash is not accepted. This helps us manage the flow efficiently for everyone. And if you are attending solely to watch the fun and support your loved ones, good news – observers do not require a ticket! We suggest wearing warm, comfortable clothing and, most importantly, remember to bring your own socks for your skates!

Parking for this event is simple! We are providing complimentary parking in the VIP Lot, accessible from Church Street. Simply follow the signs for public skating entry, and you will find us at the loading dock located conveniently below the VIP lot. This ensures you can reach the arena easily and without difficulty. Remember, this is an event where participants skate at their own risk, and while helmets and safety equipment are suggested for novices, everyone’s safety is our primary concern. Please observe the rules posted at the arena to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all attendees.
